Post pandemic, after 10 years telling stories and sharing short films online, I decided to step off a digital stage and onto a traditional one. I wanted to connect someone in the real world, and have an impact on their life through the oldest form of storytelling.

So.

I wrote a play called ‘Bloom Girl.’ It completely ruined my life.

I spent the next 3 years trying to get a foot in the door with this production.

It’s been the most challenging, vulnerable and confronting thing I have ever done in my life.

With the help of many wonderful collaborators, a fantastic producing partner in PM Collab Operations, friends, family and an amazing director, Pacharo Mzembe, we have now performed Bloom Girl on a national main-stage, and for just shy of 2000 people.

Each evolution has been more vulnerable than the last.

Before it went up in 2024, I evolved the play to include my own experiences about what it means to say ‘something real.’

What happens next is... well.
